The Bustling Electric Rails of France
Friday, February 24, 2023, 7:00 P.M. (Central Time), 899 S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago

Presented by Mike Lehman

MCERA Mike Lehman's 2022 visit to France has yielded a wide array of fascinating photography of the current state of French electric rail systems and some infrastructures.

The state of French passenger rail is--in a word--busy. Mike will present a street-level, railroad-level view of the all-electric rail systems, other passenger transportation modes, maps and infrastructures, primarily in Paris and Marseilles, in his presentation.

Mike will discuss the French rail culture, in which the population depends on electric commuter rail, regional rail, and international rail. Included is a look at prominent city passenger stations including the famed Gare du Nord, which serves 120 million passengers a year!

CERA Members will receive further details and a Zoom log-in later this month.
