Trips in 2006

Toronto Fan Trip: August 13, 2006

CERA sponsored a “Meet up & Ride” Fantrip on the TTC's PCC4500 on August 13, 2006.  Forty three fans purchased tickets to go on the trip.  I acted as the “Trip Planner/Organizer” with Phil Spencer of Toronto doing the schedule planning.

Everyone made their own transportation and lodging arrangements to get to Toronto.  Quite a few members arrived the prior day for some photo work and riding on their own, and a number visited the Halton County Radial Museum on the prior day also...but those activities were all up to each individual.

For the CERA charter, we met on the morning of 8/13 at 0900 at the Russell Car-House where we boarded our charter with car 4500.  TTC had also provided us with an excellent operator (and fan) that we had requested for our trip. Also provided to each rider was a souvenir, plastic-coated ticket and lanyard holder for wearing it as an easy ID.

The charter had numerous well planned photo opportunities as well as fun riding on trackage not usually used. The schedule was so well planned that we actually returned to Russell approx. 15 minutes early consequently we had a bit of a bonus ride further east to the Woodbine Loop where the car was posed for another photo opportunity and a group photo of all in attendance.

Thankfully the weather cooperated fully, and all too soon the day was over.
